BCHE in Partnership with UB Chair of Medicine

The UB Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences named Dr. Leonard Egede as the new chair of the Department of Medicine. More information about Dr. Egede's background can be found here.

According to the school’s website, “Egede is a nationally recognized health disparities researcher whose work focuses on developing and testing innovative interventions aimed at addressing and ultimately eliminating health disparities in chronic medical and mental health conditions that result from race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status and geographic location.”

Dr. Egede came to Buffalo after this National search because of the groundwork in community engagement that partners like Buffalo Center for Health Equity has done. BCHE has done tremendous work in health disparities through research, advocacy, and community engagement. Through this close partnership between the two organizations, there is optimism to make real sustaining change.
