Caring Hearts Initiative
The Caring Hearts Initiative is a collaboration with the American College of Cardiology, Foodsmart, Higi and the Healthy Community Store Initiative. In the wake of the tragedy at Tops Friendly Markets on May 14, 2022, in Buffalo, New York, the Buffalove Caring Hearts Initiative was launched. The program aims to provide sustainable, ongoing support and infrastructure for cardiovascular health and food access/security in the affected communities. It includes resources for food security, nutrition, meal planning, in-store health screening services, and patient risk assessments to improve heart health.

Heart-Healthy Nutrition
Even the healthiest among us can benefit from heart-healthy eating patterns. But adopting a healthy eating plan is especially helpful for people at risk for—or who already have—heart disease.
What do healthy ways of eating have in common? They stress a diet rich in whole foods filled with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
