The 8th Annual Igniting Hope Conference will be
The Igniting Hope Conference brings hundreds of community leaders, researchers and public officials to the Jacobs School of Medicine at the University at Buffalo for a day of information sharing on the BCHE’s work to address the social determinants of health.
The weekend commences with our annual Community Day event at MLK Park on Buffalo's East Side! This event will be Friday September 19, the day before the conference! There will be games, food trucks, community resources and more! Come help us kick off this wonderful weekend! To Register, click here.
This year we're doing something different!
Presenting our Pre-Conference Virtual Community Conversation! This year’s Igniting Hope Conference is focused on implementing a community plan for health equity. To set the stage for collective action, this series focuses on building a shared understanding of how we got here and what we are up against.
The following social determinants of health will be discussed at each virtual session and as breakout sessions during the conference

- Workforce Development: Underemployment/unemployment
- Housing
- Access to Healthy Foods
- Education/Literacy
