Sheena Woods Named a 2024 Black Achiever
Sheena is an accomplished leader in nonprofit management for organizations throughout Western New York.
In her current role with the Buffalo Center for Health Equity, Sheena provides comprehensive support and technical advice to the CEO and the COO using more than a decade of experience in accounting and project management. A proven boots on the ground leader, she has implemented programming to address issues of equity through the lens of the 'social determinants of health' in marginalized communities. This is particularly true for her work in maternal health, where she served as Program Manager for Every Bottom Covered, Inc. At BestSelf Behavioral Health, Inc., Sheena was the only employee in the organization's history to receive the "You Make a Difference Award" twice for her effective management of over 150 employees.
A recipient of the coveted New York State Public Health Corps (NYSPHC) Fellowship Program, Sheena has completed coursework in accounting from Canisius University and earned a Master Certificate in Business Management, through UB’s Reimagine Entrepreneurship Master Class and Cornell University's ECornell certificate program."
